Interests

Family. Having fun with my kids: Carson, Cole, and Claire. It's a hoot having an older son and twins. With one in 11th grade high school and two in 8th grade, all I can say is.................HELP! Actually, I'm looking forward to it. They are great kids!

Chocolate.

Georgie. My 6 year old Papillon (butterfly dog). He's been a wonderful addition to my family. He's a purebred, but not show quality. It's his personality that I love. He stays with his best doggie friend, Bailey (Bagel - Basset/Beagle) while I'm teaching.

Chocolate.

Photo Impact Graphics. I've been having fun learning PhotoImpact V12 software. I've been following online tutorials. Many of my graphics can be found at http://www.silverfalls.k12.or.us/staff/read_shari/pi8.htm.

Chocolate.

Djembe. Started playing djembe drums. Not great at it, but great at enjoying it! This is a picture of my drum I purchased last summer. It's 27" X 17" and it's LOUD! hehehe

Chocolate.

Traveling. I've been in all the United States except two. (Alaska and Hawaii here I come!) When we finished college, we sold most of our stuff, put the rest in storage and traveled around the U.S. in our 1979 VW Rabbit for 4 months. We camped at National Parks, visited family, and scoped out possible relocation sites. I've also enjoyed visiting Nicaragua, Costa Rica, England, France, Italy, Slovenia, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Czechoslovakia, Austria, and Germany.

Chocolate.

Exchange Students. We enjoy hosting foreign exchange students. We have five extended members of our family: Jean and Lucy from France, Gaby from Bulgaria, Helen from Germany, and Nao and Mitsuru from Japan. Hosting is a life changing experience and I highly recommend it!

Chocolate.

Creativity. I dabble in art. I particularly enjoy bioillustration and sterling silver wire wrap jewelry.

Chocolate.

ETC. I'm an avid reader and movie goer, a once good tennis player and swimmer, and a collector of Far Side comics and anything science related I can get my hands on. Our garage is full of fossils, insects, model rockets, rocks, books, and pamphlets. Too bad I don't organize them.

Oh yeah, did I mention I like chocolate?
